Anthony Martinez, Sommelier at Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, has over twenty years of experience in the food and beverage industry. He brings this wealth of knowledge to the Gaylord Texan, where he contributes to the service, training and sales of the beverage program. He is directly involved in the development of the wine, liquor and beer program at the Texan through employee education and guest interaction. During evening service hours he focuses on the Old Hickory Steakhouse where he has put together 6 consecutive Wine Spectator Award of Excellance awards for his diverse wine list. He also spear heads the wine list for the Wine Bar and the all Italian list at the new concept Zeppole.
Prior to his employment at the Gaylord Texan, Mr. Martinez was a Sommelier at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas, TX. for four and a half years. Anthony been in the Dallas Restaurant industry for 18 years and first started his career in the industry in Santa Fe, NM. He has acquired a wealth knowledge in food, wine and beverage over the years, working in a multitude of restaurant cuisines from Italian, French, Mediterranean, South Western, and most recently Steakhouse cuisine.
Anthony was born and raised in Taos, NM and lived in Santa Fe nine years prior to moving to DFW. Anthony has resided in Grapevine since his move to Texas. |
