JENNIFER HUNTER

Originally from a small town in Georgia, Jennifer Hunter got her start in the restaurant business working for local restauranteurs, Chris and Lyn Rasch, at the historical Fox Hollow.  She spent her high school days working her way up to server and helping with food prep in the kitchen.  After graduating she went on to attend Johnson & Wales Culinary School in Charleston, South Carolina.
Jennifer’s talents took her to Yellowstone National Park where she became the Sous Chef at the Old Faithful Inn and Snowlodge.  When the cold weather became too much, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1998.
She began working for the famous Reata in downtown Fort Worth, for legendary restaurant owner Al Micalef.  It was there that she got her “taste” for the front of the house.
From there she went to Del Frisco’s in 1999, where she met local restaurant celebrity and General Manager, Adam Jones.  He took her under his wing and taught her everything she needed to know about the front of the house operations.
In 2007 she landed a job as the General Manager for Chef Tim Love at the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, where she met her future husband, Chef Eric.  The two got married in March 2010.
While planning their dream restaurant, Jennifer went back to working for Reata at the Backstage Club for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and the Reata restaurant in downtown Fort Worth.  During this time, Jennifer and Eric realized the potential of the Fire Oak Grill and that they wanted to slow down and enjoy small town life in Weatherford, where they could be a bigger part of the community.  Their dream came true when they purchased the Fire Oak Grill in September of 2010.
