Beginning his passion for wine over 20 years ago, Roy Mohr spent most of this time as a hobbyist, a wine enthusiast. Only in the last 13 years has Roy turned his passion into a career. Arriving in Dallas with the intentions of continuing as an engineer, an opportunity presented itself for Roy to begin as Wine Buyer for renowned retailer Neiman Marcus.
Discovering his calling in life, Roy has served in many facets of the industry. Working as Cellar Master in the restaurant side, as a district sales manager for a well-respected Italian wine importer and now the Beer and Wine Steward for Market Street.
Working in the industry is not enough for Roy; he has opted to pursue the credentials as well. He has reached the Certified Sommelier level with the Court of Master Sommeliers. With no intentions of stopping at just the Certified level, he hopes to some day be asked to sit for the Master Sommelier exam. Roy is also a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators and will continue to complete their Certified Wine Educator curriculum this summer. Further, he has begun preparing for the Master Cicerone exam, a comprehensive program focused on beer and malt beverages
