She is assessing the bioactivity of secondary plant compounds from wine, grapes and other fruits,
 vegetables, and other foods in their role in the prevention of chronic diseases.

She previously worked at the University of Florida and the Texas A&M Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology. She earned her doctorate from the University of Florida.
