FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TEXAS—The Texas wine industry invites friends and families to ‘Come on Over, Y’all’ and raise a glass to the hardworking people who contribute to this $24 billion industry and fifth-largest wine producing state in the country. October marks not only Texas Wine Month, but also the second annual international ‘Come Over October‘ campaign—perfect timing to share a bottle of Texas wine and celebrate Texas’ rich wine history, culture and community.

Texas Wine Month is supported by the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Uncork Texas Wines program, Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association, Texas Hill Country Wineries, Texas Wine Growers, Texas Fine Wine and North Texas Wine Country. These organizations are also participating in the Come Over October campaign, which is supported by more than 100 wine companies and associations around the world.

“From Friday night lights and tailgate parties to backyard BBQs and Sunday supper, Texas hospitality is second to none—so all of us in the Texas wine industry invite Texans to grab a bottle of Texas wine and toast to our state’s exceptional wines and Texas-sized hospitality,” says Karen Bonarrigo, president-elect of the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association and co-owner of Messina Hof Winery. “Pick up a few bottles of Texas wine and invite your friends and family to come on over and sip, savor and share in the spirit of connection and community.”

In addition to visiting Texas wineries across the state, there are several industry events and opportunities to enjoy wines from multiple wineries for Texas Wine Month and Come Over October:

About Come Over October

Come Over October is an international campaign during the month of October encouraging wine drinkers to invite friends, colleagues, neighbors and family to “come over” to a home, a restaurant, a winery or wherever people gather to share some wine, friendship, and goodwill. The campaign’s message leans fully into moderation and some may choose to participate with non-alcohol wine. Come Over October honors wine’s 9,000-year history as a communal beverage that brings people together. As an agricultural product consumed within the company of others and most often with food, wine has played a positive role in society and culture.
